SASSA Payment Dates for February 2024
To cover the unpaid SASSA beneficiaries’ grants for January, SASSA has released the payment schedule for February 2024 without delay. This schedule includes the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, Older Persons, Disability, Care Dependency, War Veterans, Child Support, and Foster Child Grants.
You can check the SASSA payment dates for February 2024 for the Social Relief of Distress SRD R350 grant and other social grants. Parents and guardians who did not receive SASSA payments in January will be paid in February. The national agency announced that the distribution of Child Grants will commence from 6 February 2024.
SASSA to Pay Double Grants in February 2024 Payment Dates
For those who missed out on January 2024 payments due to the SASSA Verification System glitch, there is good news. In February 2024, beneficiaries can collect not only their current month’s grant but also the overdue January payment.
To ensure eligibility, citizens are encouraged to complete the SASSA Status Check for February 2024 to confirm approved grants. If SASSA approved your February grant but you were previously unpaid for January, both months’ grants will be disbursed on the scheduled payment dates in February.
For those with a declined status in February but approved in January 2024, and yet to receive the January grant, do not worry. You can now receive the overdue January Child Support Grant payment, though the declined February grant won’t be included.
Conversely, if your January grant was declined but February 2024 is approved, you’re eligible for the February grant payment only.
SASSA Urges Citizens to Check Payment Status
SASSA encourages all grant beneficiaries to check the status of their grants to confirm payment approvals. Citizens can complete the online SASSA Status Check via the official website, USSD string 1347737#, WhatsApp, or visit their nearest SASSA office.
The agency highlighted that rejected applications in January 2024 must re-apply online for SASSA grants in February. Approved applicants will then receive their first grant payment based on the February 2024 cycle.
New SASSA Payment Methods in 2024
In 2024, SASSA introduced new payment methods allowing citizens to access grants easily. These include:
- SASSA Card – Pre-paid card for cash withdrawals and purchases
- Bank account deposits – Direct deposits into beneficiary bank accounts
- Cash Send eWallet – Receive funds via mobile wallet
Beneficiaries should activate their SASSA Card or eWallet for payments. Those using bank accounts must confirm their details are updated on the SASSA system.
